Remain close beside me, oh Savior I pray:
For thy strength to o’ercome,
And never to stray,
As I wade through afflictions and tossing black seas
Enduring my own Gethsemane.
Lord I will follow the path thou hast tread,
I shall carry my cross triumphant to death,
My hands raw and aching,
my back drenched with sweat.
I will go where thou goest that I might be
Received in heaven to be with thee.
